来自美国的硬摇滚乐队jane's addiction崛起于80年代中期。当时，美国的alternative rock正处于萌芽时期，在这段时间涌现了一些非常出色的乐队，包括big black、jesus lizard、melvins、pixies等等，他们对九十年代初期美国摇滚乐在世界范围内的全面爆发产生了非常重大的影响。jane’s addiction是其中非常特别的一队另类组合。

乐队的风格可以简单概括为，重型的异域节奏和忧伤的旋律。主唱那难以企及的高亢嗓音，令人想起robert plant。但他的歌声中还富含着诡异的伤感，并成为乐队最为醒目的标志。吉他手是一位Funky metal的天才，他出色的节奏和富于灵性的旋律给主唱提供了最大限度的发挥空间。作为一支技术非常出色的乐队，jane’s addiction在音乐上不断的锐意创新，给沉闷的美国摇滚乐坛注入了新鲜的血液。
