乐队简介：

美国嘻哈组合The Sugarhill Gang，U-Dig译名：糖山帮，是第一支拥有进入单曲榜前40位的歌曲的嘻哈组合，他们的一首“Rapper's Delight”是历史上最早出现的嘻哈歌曲之一。组合成员全部来自新泽西的英格尔伍德，分别叫Wonder Mike, Big Bank Hank和Master Gee，他们三人由Sugar Hill唱片公司的创始人之一，女制作人Sylvia Robinson撮合而成，而与Sylvia一同开创Sugar Hill唱片公司的正是她的老公，当时的唱片业巨头Joe Robinson。

上世纪70年代末期，Sylvia Robinson看到了纽约城周边嘻哈文化初立之初街头派对的兴起，所以她立刻招募了三名当地青年，并找来了贝斯手，吉他手和鼓手组成了Sugarhill Gang。他们是第一个在电视节目《American Bandstand》上表演的说唱组合，而不像资料上说是他们第一个在《American Bandstand》上进行演出。Sugarhill Gang的一首“Rapper's Delight”是嘻哈历史最早出现的歌曲之一，另一首就是Fatback Band的“King Tim III”，不过后者当时被划分入funk音乐种类。不过这不影响Sugarhill Gang成为音乐历史上第一个获得黄金单曲的嘻哈组合。歌曲登上1979年美国流行榜第36位，R&B榜单第4位。 www.u-dig.cn

The Sugarhill Gang之后推出单曲“Apache”，“Eighth Wonder”（在1981年的“灵魂列车”电视音乐节目上演出），“Rapper's Reprise [Jam Jam]”和与Furious Five合作的“Showdown”，不过都没有取得较好的成绩。1999年，他们回归录制了一张献给儿童的专辑《Jump On It》。之后继续在世界各处进行巡演。
