I admit that when I first heard it I definately thought it was another one of those lovey-dovey, mushy & cheesy rap songs.

this song is about being in a relationship [spouse or lover] with someone who is in a band or some other profession that takes them away from home quite frequently. The person at home is saying how upset they are that the job is taking so much control of their loved one's life and how they feel like they aren't as important as the job. They keep getting told that it won't be very long before they come back again, but the trips lengthen even more every time they go. They are never home for the little things that used to mean so much like Halloween parties together and family barbecues. It's a really sweet song and I really do love it.
